Out of the chaos and void of space, the heavenly bodies formed and gave light. As the molten earth cooled, volcanic eruptions filled the sky with a firmament of water. The land rose and the water fell as rain, creating the continents and oceans. Next, the lower plants and animals came into being. Then came fish, birds, mammals, and finally humankind, in that order. The account has a unusual way of numbering each day of creation.<\/span><span class=\"wp-block-scf-block-scf-gutenberg scf-content-chunk\" data-scf=\"English,&#48744;&#44036;&#49353;,\"><span class=\"dp-red\"> When the first day of creation was completed, it states, &ldquo;There was evening and there was morning, one day&rdquo; <span class=\"has-small-font-size\">(Gen. 1:5)<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"wp-block-scf-block-scf-gutenberg scf-content-chunk\" data-scf=\"English,&#54028;&#46976;&#49353;,\"><span class=\"dp-blue\"> One would think that the arrival of the morning after the passage of an evening and a night would be reckoned as the second day, yet it is referred to as the first day. The Bible states &ldquo;one day&rdquo; to show that a created being must pass through a growing period, symbolized by the night, before it reaches perfection in the morning.
