Jesus is the main temple, and we are the branch temples. Jesus is the vine, and we are the branches (John 15:5). We, the wild olive shoots, are to be engrafted with Jesus, the true olive tree (Rom. 11:17), before we can become true olive trees ourselves. Accordingly, Jesus called us “my friends” (John 15:14), and it is written that “when he appears we shall be like him” (I John 3:2). Jesus alone is the “first fruits,” but at his return, we who belong to Christ will be the next (I Cor. 15:23).

<a href="https://principle.study/en/dp/christology/jesus-and-the-person-who-has-realized-the-purpose-of-creation/" title="Section 2.
